Natural Areas of Henry County: A Guide

The Henry County Soil & Water Conservation District applied for and was awarded grant money from the Henry County Community Foundation to compile a guide for residents as a reference tool for the natural areas in our county. The booklet features colorful pictures and detailed information on wetlands, prairies, streams & rivers in Henry County. It goes into detail of Henry County’s natural heritage and it highlights special natural areas such as Summit Lake State Park, Wilbur Wright Fish & Wildlife Area, Westwood Park and many others.  Natural Areas of Henry County was written by Randy Jones, Jeff Ray and Tom Swinford, IDNR Regional Ecologist.

The booklet was distributed through the county at many locations. To find a copy of the Natural Areas of Henry County  closest to you call the SWCD office at 529.2303 ext 3 for those locations.
